Journal of Marine Biology and Aquatic Research

Emmanouil Malandrakis is a post-doctoral scholar at the University of Thessaly Greece. From 2016 he is serving as a Production Manager at Roussas Dairy SA, Greece and as a scientific advisor for fish farming and seafood processing companies. During 2015 he was a post-doctoral scientist at the Agricultural University of Athens. He received his BSc (hons), MSc and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Thessaly Greece. Since 2015, he has taught Biochemistry, Aquaculture, and Management of aquaculture enterprises. He was trained in molecular biology techniques at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) at Heidelberg, Germany. His research interests span both molecular and marine biology. Much of his work has been on understanding the impact of stress on marine organisms at the molecular level. He has worked in more than ten research projects. He has contributed to numerous papers in scientific journals and proceedings of national and international congresses.

Dr. Tamer EL-Syed Ali has over 24 years of professional experience in the Marine Science, Nutrition, Health Management, Aquaculture Engineering, Animal Science, and Oceanography. He received his Ph.D. in aquaculture, Animal Science Department, Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, with the general grade “Excellent”. As a visiting scientist at Institute for Environmental Studies(IVM), Professor Tamer EL-Sayed Ali as a faculty of Earth Life Sciences at Vrije University, Amsterdam. He also has an experience over Fish eel (Anguilla Anguilla) reproduction technique, Fish eggs quality examination and Chemical analysis of different ingredients of diets & fish tissues. He also participated in national and international projects as a researcher and coordinator in the Oceanography. He is also having teaching experience in the following courses like B.SC, M.SC & Ph.D. students and he also worked as an experimental director of B.Sc. students projects in Animal Science Department (UPV) during the period (2003-2005). He is an Examiner of a thesis submitted to Alexandria University. He is also having an membership in some of the Societies like Member in Spanish Aquaculture Society (SEA), Member of European Aquaculture Society (EAS). He also has participated as a reviewer & editor in some of the Journals and also published the Journals. He also visited the technical visits in some of the countries. He also participated in several conferences, workshops & professional training courses. For his contributions in the field of Marine Science, Aquaculture, Professor Tamer EL-Sayed Ali was honored with Incentive Prize of Alexandria University in 2012. Professor Tamer EL-Sayed Ali has been a professor at Alexandria University Since 1994.

Research: Dr. Tamer EL-Syed's research interests include Producing of Nile Tilapia in Marine water by Genetic Engineering, in the intensive system. Design of zero-discharge Tilapia recirculating system. Fish Physiology and Biochemistry. Aquaculture Engineering. Rearing of catfish in different water salinities in close Water System.

Rathnayake Mudiyanselage is currently working as Senior Deputy Director of Industrial Technology Institute (Successor to Ceylon Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research in Sri Lanka),conducted various trainings programs on plant tissue culture, identification and agronomic practices of medicinal plants for prospective stake holders of medicinal plant industry. He did his BSc (Sp.) Hons in Agriculture from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka in 1995, Specialized in Horticultural Crop Production and Diploma in English from Aquinas College, Sri Lanka in 1998. He also did his Master of Philosophy in Botany from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka in 2002 and PhD in Botany from University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka in 2011, now working as a Secretary of Science and Technology Advisory Committee (SLAAS) and as an Editorial Board member of Pharmacognosy research, Chair Person of Sri Lanka Association of Advancement of Science award committee. He is the author of many relevant publications in the World Journal of Agricultural Research and Journal of Ethno pharmacology, and also has many Research Communications in Sri Lanka and Proc. international Conference on Restorative & Alternative Medicine, USA, and Proc.73rd annual sessions of Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science.

Gethin Thomas is a senior lecturer in zoology with a broad interest in how hosts and parasites interact. His research is focused on host behavioral and physiological changes following parasite infestation, and he is also experienced in a broad range of sampling methods, including marine and freshwater techniques, with an emphasis on parasitology and whole animal physiology. Currently he teaches on a range of zoological and marine biology modules, is a member of several university and national committees, and is the coordinator for the Biosciences Second Year at Swansea University. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and runs a freshwater mussel surveying consultancy in his spare time. He is a member of British Society of Parasitology, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Freshwater Biological Association (FBA), and the Fisheries Society of the British Isles (FSBI).

Alan feest is currently a Lead author for the UN convention IPBES, Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, UK, and as a Director of Ecosulis Ltd. He was educated at University of Bristol and a Founder Member of IEEM, Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (FCIWEM), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and a Chartered Scientist (CSci). After working as both the Civil Service and industry obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences from University of Exter and then a PhD (Ecology of Myxogastrids) from University of Bristol which was continued as a post doctorial research.  He worked as an Advisor to European Environment Agency on effects of Nitrogen deposition on biodiversity and Lead author for IPBES, Edited two books published 4 reviews, 58 scientific papers and one international report, 10 conference contributions;17 ecological reports for a range of organizations including Plant life, Woodland Trust, Cress well Associates. He also worked as a Council Member of British Mycological Society since 1992-1995. He was awarded with British Council award to study the myxomycetes of soils in the Czechoslovak Republic (1984).

Eng. Mohammad Reza Shooshtarian is a faculty member of Environmental Health Engineering at Larestan University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Also, he occupies a position as the manager of Student Research Committee and is a member of Research Council of the university. He has 3+ years of executive experience in water and wastewater industry. He has authored a number of papers in international journals in environmental domain and has been conductor of several research projects. As his research interests, he works on water quality management/ modeling/ and assessment, application of fuzzy theory and decision support systems in environmental and health sciences, water and waste water treatment technologies and optimization, developing new indices for assessing the environmental performance, and interdisciplinary approaches to find the interactions between health and environment.He pursues linking between science and practice in his research perspectives.

Ana Pombo is now currently working as a Professor of Aquaculture at the School of Tourism and Maritime Technology (ESTM), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Portugal since 2005. Aquaculture Master Head at the same Polytechnic Institute since 2012 and researcher at MARE (Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre). She has been investigating new species to marine aquaculture and she is head in several researcher projects and also author of many publications and her research is focused on diversification in aquaculture to improve the sustainability of the sector. She completed her PhD on Biomedical Investigation and Biotechnology in the field: Biology of Farmed Fishes at University of Extremadura, Spain. Her present research interests include marine aquaculture, diversification in aquaculture, marine biology, histology and marine biotechnology

Dr. Giacomo Zaccone is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences Dentistry, Morphological and Functional Images at University of Messina, Italy. He is a member of international societies i.e American Society for Neurosciences European Society for Comparative Skin Biology etc. He is a visiting professor at international universities. He serves an editorial board member to various renowed international journals. He authored more than 350 publications. 

Zeliha Selamoglu is currently working as a Professor - Department of Medical Biology in Nigde Ömer Halisdemir University, Turkey. She got her PhD in Biology from Inonu University and has published over 100 peer reviewed journal articles with over 950 citations and many technical reports. She is a member of Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine: Associate Membership and European association for cancer research. She is also a Editorial Board member for many Journals which include British Journal of Applied Science & Technology, Journal of Coastal Life Medicine.

Dr. Said Elshahat Abdallah is currently working as Professor of Agricultural Process Engineering, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture at Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt. He was born on January 6, 1972 and he obtained his Ph.D degree in Technical Sciences in November 2005 from the Faculty of Design, at Don State Technical University, Russia. He prepared many scientific literatures such as Engineering of Food Factories and Dairy Plants, Engineering Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer, introduction to agricultural process engineering, Instrumentation, Properties and Testing of Engineering Materials.He also published more than thirty research articles in various international peer reviewed Journals. He supervised and examined about twenty M. Sc and Ph. D. dissertations. He also participated in several either local or international conferences on the topics of Agricultural Process Engineering. He contributed in the attendance of many meetings, workshops and training courses.He was awarded as the Food Engineer of the Year award in 2010,Excellence Award in International Scientific Publication award from 2011-2017. He also serves as an Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editor, Editorial Board Member and also as an Food expert in more than five hundred International peer reviewed Journals.

Ercument Genc works as full time professor in the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture in Ankara University. He works as the committee member of National Committee on Registration of Aquatic Genetic Resources since 26.12.2014 as an expert in aquatic organisms. He has been working on fish, molluscs and crustacean parasites, fish diseases, histopathology since 2000 and DNA barcoding since 2011. He has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed research articles in international journals, 5 in national journals, 50 symposiums, 3 book chapters, and 25 projects (project leader in 10). He is a member of the WWF and the European Aquaculture Society

Rajendra Singh is now currently working as an Associate Professor, Department of Zoology at School of Sciences Mody University of Science and Technology. He got his Ph.D from Saurashtra University, Rajkot in subject Bio Science, Experimental Biology (toxicology). He is also working as an In-charge of FASC, Deemed University Examination and Educational tours and outings and also a life member of “Society for Science and Environment”, India and “Eco-Ethics International Union”, Germany. He also serves as an Editorial Board Member of “Journal of Cell and Tissue Research” and “Electronic Journal of Environmental Sciences. He is also the author of varied research articles in several journals.

Filippo Giarratana is currently working as Researcher Department of Veterinary Sciences at University of Messina, Italy. He got his Ph.D degree in Research Doctoral Course “Marine Environment Healthiness, Ichtyopathology and Quality of Seafood" at University of Messina he is also a founder member of Riconnexia srls, Spin-off of the University of Messina, with a core business on food quality and safety. Filippo is also a Member of Italian Association of Veterinary Hygienists. His scientific activity is certified by over than 40 papers published on National and International Journals.

Matthew Tan is currently working as a Chief Executive Officer and Director of Oceanus Tech Pte Ltd, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oceanus Group. Tan is a veteran in the aquaculture industry and is responsible for the development of Oceanus Group's Risk Management framework and farms' operational protocols and oversaw the development and implementation of the company farm’s Bio-security plan which includes the validation & adoption of sustainable technologies, implementation of water monitoring system, animal nutrition & feed formulation in their land based farms and floating cage facilities. He was also the CEO of an environmental engineering company where he served for more than 10 years and has been involved in the extensive implementation of engineering solutions to waste water and aquaculture industry in both Singapore and Asia. He has a vision of developing evidence-based science and technology that is both ECO friendly and sustainable.

Neama Ahmed is currently working as a Lecturer in Sanitary and Environmental Engineering Institute. She got her PH.D in Chemical Engineering at Cairo University in 2013. She is also the member of Egyptian Society of Engineers, Egyptian Society of Chemical Engineers and also the author of various publications in Journals such as Journal of Environment and Biotechnology Research, of Agricultural Engineering, Egyptian Journal of Applied Sciences and Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering

İsmet Balık is currently working as an Professor in the Faculty of Marine Sciences, Ordu University in Turkey. He has been working on the fisheries management, fishery biology and fishing technology and his researches has been focused more on the biological characteristics of freshwater and marine fish, fishing methods, and stock assessments. İsmet Balık has authored a total of 86 papers in which fifty-four of them published in the International or National Journals and also been presented in the International Symposiums, National symposiums. He also serves as an Editorial Board Member of Journal of Maritime and Marine Sciences,The Journal of Urban Academy.

Prof .Saxena is currently working as a President at Tantia University, India. He got his Ph.D in Hydrobiology from University of Jodhpur. He also serves as Editorial Board Member of Journal of Environmental Science & Sustainability, Journal of Threatened Taxa and Editor in Chief Oikoassay - An International Journal of Environmental and Allied Sciences since 1984. He is also the author of over 150 Research Papers in the Journals of International repute, besides authoring 6 Books.

Chrétien Lontsi Djimeli is a Post-Doctoral Scholar at the University of Yaoundé I Cameroon. He received his Ph.D. in Hydrobiology and Environment, Physiology and Biology Animals Department, Faculty of Sciences University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon, with the general grade “Excellent”. His research interests span Bio-adhesion, Water Quality, Waste water Treatment and Water Treatment. Since 2012, he has taught Biostatistics, Microbiology, Quality Management and Water Treatment. He has also contributed to numerous papers in scientific journals.
