Dr. Robert R. Redfield is currently working as a professor and as IHV Associate Director and Director of the Division of Clinical Care and Research, at University of Maryland, Baltimore. He received many honors and awards in his career. He published many articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Robert R. Redfield research is mainly focused on clinical research and clinical care of chronic human viral infections, especially HIV. His dominant area of research interest is the development of novel biological approaches to the treatment of chronic viral pathogens with a particular focus of targeting host cell pathways for their therapeutic potential. Several novel areas under active translation investigation include: targeting key biochemical pathways of nucleotide biosynthesis to enhance activity of specific antiretroviral medication; targeting cell activation with specific cell cycles as aprimary treatment target; use of G1 cell cycle agents to down regulate expression of key HIV host cell receptors; use of G1 cell cycles to enhance antiviral activity of HIV entry inhibitors; and the use of HIV specific proteins as therapeutic vaccines.

Dr. Charles O. Thoen is currently working as a professor at Department of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine, Iowa State University and as Adjunct Professor at Department of Pathobiology, Tuskegee University. He completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology, (1971). He received many honors and awards in his career and published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Charles O. Thoen research is mainly focused in the areas of Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine, Pathobiology, Immunology & Preventive Medicine. 

Dr. Barbara Anne Curbow is currently working as a professor and chair of the Department of Behavioral and Community Health in the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland. From 2006-2014 she was professor and chair of the Department of Behavioral Science and Community Health at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions. Over the course of her career she has trained over 30 doctoral advisees. She published various articles in international journals.

Research: Dr. Barbara Anne Curbow research is mainly focused on cancer prevention and control, medical treatment decision making, health disparities, and health communication. 

Dr. Manouchehr Mokhtari is currently working as associate professor at the School of Public Health, University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, USA. He completed his PhD at University of Houston, Texas (1986). He published various articles in international journals.

Research: Dr. Manouchehr Mokhtari research is mainly focused on Predictive Modeling, Health, Risk Assessment, Cost-Benefit Analysis of Events, Interventions and Recoveries, Health, Health Care, Patient Surveys, Health Policy, Health Economics, Household Survey Analysis, Date Mining, Strategic Decision Making, Applied Econometrics.

Dr. Bryan Krantz is currently an associate professor in the Department of Microbial Pathogenesis, University of Maryland. Previously, he worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular & Cell Biology, University of California (2006-14). He worked as a post-doctoral fellow with R. John Collier in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics, Harvard Medical School (2003-2006). He completed his PhD at Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, University of Chicago (1997-2002). He received many honors in his career and published various articles in international journals.  

Research: Dr. Bryan Krantz's research is focused in the areas of Chemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular & Cell Biology. He has used anthrax toxin as a model system to study translocation-coupled unfolding. Through those studies, he isolated a novel oligomer architecture of the toxin, an octamer, which has opened new research angles to study the crystal structure of the toxin in its various forms. His other research interests are in nanopore sensing of toxicants and in understanding how periodontal infections and secreted pore-forming toxins may influence infections and other chronic diseases.

Dr. Li Cai is currently working as an associate professor at Department of Biomedical Engineering, United States. He completed his PhD in Physiology & Neurobiology at Rutgers University & UMDNJ - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (1997). He received many honors and published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Li Cai research is mainly focused on retinal development and stem cell, genomics/bioinformatics, statistical analysis of genome-wide transcription profiling data on neural development and cancer, and developed novel mathematical/statistical methods for such data analysis. 

Dr. Wen-Quan Zou is currently working as an associate professor at departments of pathology and neurology and as associate director at national prion disease pathology surveillance center, case western reserve university school of medicine. He completed his PhD. from shanghai medical university. He received many honors and awards in his career. He published many articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Wen-Quan Zou research is mainly focused in the areas of protein aggregation in the conformational diseases especially on the physiological and pathologic prion proteins (prpc and prpsc) in prion diseases (prd) as well as on neurotoxic amyloid β (aβ) in alzheimer disease (ad), the co-existence of prpc and prpsc in the central nervous system is a prerequisite for prd, a group of fatal transmissible neurodegenerative diseases such as creutzfeldt-jakob disease (cjd) in humans, scrapie in sheep and goat, bovine spongiform encephalopathy in cattle, and chronic wasting disease in deer and elk.

Dr. Peter Anderson worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Rhode Island and Clinical Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He worked eight years as Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at Taunton State Hospital where he was Chairperson of the Research Steering Committee and Secretary of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. He wrote a series of continuing education articles on CBRNE for the Journal of Pharmacy Practice.

Research: Dr. Peter Anderson research is mainly focused on emergency preparedness, clinical toxicology of bioterrorism, and psychological aspects of homeland security.

Dr. Edward Joseph Bottone is currently working as a professor at Department of Infectious Diseases, Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his PhD in Microbiology at St. John's University (1973). He held several positions in his career. He received many awards and published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Edward Joseph Bottone research is mainly focused on analyzing clinically derived bacterial and fungal isolates with unusual clinical correlations.

Dr. Lela Bakanidze is currently working as a professor and as Vice - President  at Georgian Biosafety Association. Her PhD was on morphogenesis in mixed infections. She was the head for the department of Biosafety and Bioterrorism Threat Reduction, Deputy Head of the Department of Especially Dangerous Infections. 

Research: Dr. Lela Bakanidze research is mainly focused on Biosafety, Bioterrorism and Biodefence, Biocontainment Facilities, Biohazard Risk assessment.

Dr. Alcides Troncoso is currently working as a Professor at Department of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, the University of Buenos Aires. He did his postgraduate work in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at University of Buenos Aires and Clinical Tropical Medicine at the La Plata School of Medicine. He has received numerous honors and has held medical society positions worldwide. He published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Alcides Troncoso research is mainly focused on microbiology and infectious diseases. 

Dr. Michael h. A. Roehrl is currently working as Director at UHN Program in BioSpecimen Sciences, University Health Network and as an associate professor at Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, University of Toronto. He completed hid PhD in Biological Chemistry at Harvard University. He received many awards in his career and published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Michael h. A. Roehrl research is mainly focused on Gastrointestinal Pathology, Personalized Cancer Medicine, MolecularDiagnostics, Clinical Trials, Molecular and Systems Pathology, Next Generation Cancer Genome Sequencing, Proteomics, Bioinformatics, Drug Development, Immunology and Autoimmunity.

Dr. Yongchang CAO is currently working as a professor at State Key Laboratory of Bio control, Sun Yat-sen University. He completed his PhD at South China Agricultural University, China. He has membership in many professional and scientific societies. He published various articles in international journals.  

Research: Dr. Yongchang CAO research is mainly focused on Animal Virology and Animal Science. 

Dr. Lihua Song received his bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Shandong University in 2001. After receiving his Ph.D. in military preventive medicine from the Academy of Military Medical Sciences in 2006, he joined the Beijing Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology as an assistant professor of microbiology. In 2008, he was appointed to serve the United Nations’ Mission in Liberia for eight months. He received postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Intracellular Parasites of the Rocky Mountain Laboratories of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseasesfrom July 2010 to June 2013. He became an associate professor in 2009 and chief of the Laboratory of Rickettsiology of the Beijing Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiologyin September 2013.

Research: Dr. Song’s research focuses on the biology, pathogenesis, and immunity of Rickettsia, Coxiella and Chlamydia. All these three intracellular prokaryotic parasites contain Category A and B bioterrorism agents. His long-term goal is to define their virulence factors important for bacterial evasion of innate host defense mechanisms, to define mechanisms of adaptive protective immunity, and to design new therapeutic strategies for the prevention of human intracellular bacterial infections.

Dr. Hengyi Xu is currently working as associate professor at State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Technology in Nanchang University. He earned his Ph.D. in Food Science and Engineering from Nanchang University in China. He has published over 70 original studies and over 20 review papers in prestigious journals.

Research: Dr. Xu’s research is mainly focused on detection of foodborne pathogens, and toxicological/safety assessment of synthesized nanomaterials.

Dr. Guey Chuen Perng is currently working as an associate professor at Department of Microbiology and Immunology, National Cheng Kung University and at Center of Infectious Diseases and Signaling Research, National Cheng Kung University. He completed his PhD in  Microbiology at University of California, Davis. He published various articles in international journals.   

Research: Dr. Guey Chuen Perng research is mainly focused on understanding the pathogenesis of disease development during viral infections and the innate host response to these infections and Dissecting the dynamic interactions between viruses and a susceptible host factor, which may result in a dire consequence, is the methodological approach to achieve the goal.

Dr. HamidReza Naderi is currently working as an associate professor at Department of Infectious Diseases, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences and as Director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences. He held several positions in his career and published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. HamidReza Naderi research is mainly focused on Nosocomial Infections, Tuberculosis, Viral Hepatitis, HIV infection. 

Dr. Paban K. Dash is currently working as a senior scientist at Defence Research & Development Establishment (DRDE), Gwalior, India. He is a veterinarian by training and earned his Masters in Virology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Mukteshwar, India and PhD in Microbiology from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India. He has published more than 50 articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Dash research is mainly focussed on evolutionary studies on emerging viruses and development of molecular and immunological detection technologies against viruses of biothreat and public health importance. His other interest includes research on mosquito-virus interaction to understand transmission profile of various arboviruses. 

Dr. Baolin Zhang is a Senior Investigator and a Product Quality Reviewer in the Office of Biotechnology Products of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) at the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from Peking University in China. He has published over 70 original studies in prestigious journals, and presented at numerous scientific and regulatory conferences on the development of therapeutic proteins. He is a recipient of the FDA Scientific Achievement Award, the FDA/CDER Excellence in Mentoring Award, and the FDA/CDER Excellence in Leadership Award.

Research: Dr. Baolin Zhang research is mainly focused on cell death, cancer drug resistance, cancer biomarkers, protein glycosylation, therapeutic protein aggregation in human plasma, and bioassays for the functional evaluation of therapeutic protein products.  

Dr. Massimo Ciccozzi is currently working as researcher at Department of biostatistics and viruses evolution, National Institute of Health. Previously he worked as P.I. scientific in cooperative project (2009-12). He published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Massimo Ciccozzi research is mainly focused on epidemiology, biostatistics and viruses’ evolution, epidemiology and surveillance systems, molecular epidemiology and phylogeny on HIV, evolutionary studies on SARS and Avian Flu. 

Dr. Inam Danish Khan is currently working at Indian Army Medical Corps, Department of Pathology. He completed his MBBS from armed forces medical college and MD in microbiology from army hospital research & referral. He published various articles in international journals.

Research: Dr. Inam Danish Khan research is mainly focused on Emerging and Re-emerging diseases, Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology, Vaccinology, Biowarfare and Bioterrorism, Antimicrobial research, Military and Mountain Medicine.

Dr. Riyadh Khudhair Lafta Al-Juboori is currently working as a professor at College of Medicine, Mustansiriya University and as an Affiliate Professor at University of Washington. He completed his PhD in Public health and community medicine at Iraqi Committee for Medical Specialization (1994). He published various articles in international journals. 

Research: Dr. Riyadh Khudhair Lafta Al-Juboori research is mainly focused on Cost-effectiveness of Malaria screening program in Iraq, Outcome of pregnancy in a sample of Iraqi obstetric hospitals, Lipid profile in diabetic patients, Social profile of a sample of Iraqi obese adults, Childhood obesity; a sample from Baghdad city, Role of age in the course of pregnancy.
